In July 2022, the APPG on Extreme Poverty held an event exploring the UK’s role in eradicating extreme poverty. The event brought together Stefan Dercon: Professor of Economic Policy, at the Blavatnik School of Government, University of Oxford and author of 'Gambling on Development', and Kate Hampton, CEO of the Children’s Investment Fund Foundation.
The discussion explored what the UK government needs to do in order to re-prioritise the world’s poorest people, and achieve the SDG target of ending extreme poverty by 2030.
A recording of the event is available, as is a Twitter thread by Stefan Dercon summarising his contributions to the discussion.
